Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, including but not limited to setting up ladders, and working at various heights & pitches on roofs. Safely work at heights above 6 feet. Ability to work strenuously (bending, lifting, stooping) throughout the day in all-weather environments.
  • Working knowledge of basic math skills for material calculations.
  • Prior experience in roofing systems including shingles, low slope/flat roof applications, metal, and exterior home repairs (siding, windows, doors, etc.).
  • Being able to identify Material/Tools/Equipment specific to the roof application is a plus but not required.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all OSHA industry safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with estimators, office personnel, and team members.
  • Perform other repair duties as required. 
  • Exhibit professionalism at every level including appearance.
  • Good communication skills, both in writing and verbally. 
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Open availability Monday through Friday with the possibility of working Saturdays and on-call as business needs determine.
We are currently seeking someone who has experience in metal roof repairs as well as experience in low-slope and flat-roof repairs.

JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates by clarifying needs, then gathering and analyzing critical data. Highly qualified candidates will accurately calculate job costs and execute profitable business decisions. The Commercial Roofing Estimator will provide detailed reports for individual projects and organizational strategic planning. The estimator will have experience estimating flat and metal roofs of various roofing materials. This candidate will be highly organized and detailed oriented to ensure the highest quality of work and estimates.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Understand and prepare take-offs/estimates for assigned jobs.
● Identify labor, material, costs, and time requirements by researching proposals, blueprints, and any related documents.
● Collect quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers in order to develop and submit a cost estimate for each project for review by management.
● Stay current on addendums and drawing revisions before the time of tender.
● Prepare and submit bid documents for projects to customers. Then, own the bid process ensuring high quality customer experience and increased bid acceptance rate.
● Maintain a database of bid tabulations and competitor prices on projects for pricing analysis.
● Assist Project Managers throughout the awarded project timeline to work within budget and identify variances that should be incorporated into future estimates.
● Provide reports and assist leadership in the development of innovative pricing strategies that exceed sales goals and increase revenue.

REQUIREMENTS
● Proven experience as estimator or similar position
● Familiarity with financial and project management principles
● Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
● Thoroughness and reliability
● Excellent organizational skills
● Occasional after-hours or weekend work as needed to meet deadlines.
● 3-5 years’ experience in commercial roofing estimating or similar field (Highly preferred)
● Knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas. (Highly preferred)
● BS/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant discipline. (Highly preferred)
● Edge estimating software experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily sedentary in nature due to the office responsibilities; no special physical demands are required on a daily basis. Job Summary
The service manager is responsible for ensuring a premium customer experience by prioritizing and directing activities within the service department and therefore increasing lifetime customer value. A highly qualified candidate will have experience ensuring safety, quality control, profitability, and customer satisfaction for commercial and residential service work. This person will have experience understanding all types of roofing materials including single ply, shingles, and metal. This position will report to the Chief Operations Officer.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Effectively manage employee performance, control labor and material costs, and make certain service levels meet customer expectations
● Oversee and, if necessary, perform all aspects of service work from selling to installation/repair to billing
● Collaborates with the sales team to ensure they are properly estimating and quoting each project and provide insight for improvements to help improve accuracy in the scope of work
● Provide support in customer satisfaction for any jobs that involve customer concerns or unforeseen installation or repair situations to ensure jobs are completed to the quality standards
● Ensure crews are adhering to OSHA and company safety regulations through educating, monitoring and leading by example in all situations
● Provide accurate and timely communication with clients, service crews, and the company
● Assist in the completion of estimates and proposals as necessary and within required deadlines
● Monitor installers’ schedules to ensure timely completion of jobs and accurate customer invoicing and provide assistance with technical/mechanical trouble-shooting/problem-solving
● Perform employee performance reviews, document performance issues, provide necessary employee counseling with targeted improvement action plans
● Support management through co
● Continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures
● Stay current on new developments and technologies in roofing to keep the company on the cutting edge and ahead of the competition
● Track finances of work and provide progress reports to ensure on budget completion

Requirements
● Minimum of five years commercial and/or residential roofing experience including experience using construction equipment and techniques, drawings, specifications, component materials, and required standards applicable to the discipline
● Must be tech savvy in order to maintain accurate documentation and provide detailed reports
● Valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and ability to work flexible schedules, including travel regionally for project-specific work
● Strong work ethic and attention to detail; initiative and self-discipline
● Willingness to keep current with continuing education and training as necessary

Physical Abilities & Working Conditions
The majority of the Service Manager work will be done at work sites and in the office. The Service Manager will be exposed to varying temperatures ranging from heat 90 degrees plus to cold weather which could include temperatures in the teens, and rainy conditions. A Service Manager must be able to lift/move up to 70 pounds frequently. The Service Manager frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gripping and moving safely over uneven surfaces. Safely climb ladders reaching up to 60 ft while carrying up to 30 pounds and wear personal protective gear correctly.
